The 2003 Lawrence v. Texas Supreme Court ruling was a victory for GLBT and sex positive activists everywhere.
Two consenting adults were now allowed to have any type of sex they wanted within the confines of their own homes. But as the news hit the masses, several people pondered how this ruling would affect anti-prostitution legislation, as well as laws prohibiting sex in public spaces. I guess they imagined that once people were allowed to do whatever they wanted, they would do it wherever they wanted.

Singapore plans to decriminalize oral and anal sex for adult heterosexuals under legislation unveiled Thursday, but the government said sex between homosexuals will remain banned.
The government posted proposed amendments to the city-state's Penal Code — the result of a three-year review — on a Web site, and Singaporeans have a month to offer feedback. The Ministry of Home Affairs will consider the input before presenting the proposals to Parliament early next year.

Disgraced former US evangelical leader Ted Haggard has confessed to his followers that he was guilty of "sexual immorality".
"I am a deceiver and a liar," Mr Haggard said in a letter - a day after his New Life Church fired him for what it called "sexually immoral conduct".

Canadian singer Nelly Furtado has admitted that she is attracted to women and believes all people are essentially bisexual.
She believes people should have the freedom to experiment with their sexuality and has no worries about being attracted to the same sex.
She told Euro gay magazine GUS:
“I’m reading a book about Chinese medicine, which claims that people are inherently bisexual to balance their energies. “And, in a way, that makes so much sense. As humans we have both male and female energies. “I believe Kurt Cobain’s statement that, in the end, everyone is gay. (Dublin) HIV/AIDS educators knew the safe-sex message was often falling on deaf ears but even they are expressing shock at the results of a newly released study on gays and the virus which causes AIDS.

ZIMBABWE has expanded the scope of its sodomy laws. An intimate hug or smooch between people of the same sex may now constitute a crime.

The 19th of July will see anti-death penalty vigils being held all over the world to commemorate the public hanging in Iran of two gay men.
Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni were accused of raping a 13 year old boy, though several human right’s groups believed that this charge was invented in order to enable the authorities in Mashhad to serve a death penalty on the men who admitted to having gay sex, and denied the rape charge.

LANSING, Mich. - A conservative group on Wednesday sued to stop Michigan State University from offering health insurance to the partners of gay and lesbian workers and said the school is violating the state constitution.
The American Family Association of Michigan hopes to get a ruling setting a precedent that would block domestic partner benefits at other state universities.
