It takes a lot to make San Franciscans blush, but a video porn company has managed to do it.
A studio that makes S/M movies recently took over a historic building that once housed the National Guard, unleashing a rare public debate about decency in a city famous for sexual permissiveness.
Kink.com, which distributes its videos on X-rated Web sites with names such as Hogtied and Men in Pain, bought the old State Armory in the Mission District for $14.5 million....

NEW YORK (Billboard) - For producer/director John Stagliano, the music in porn films is as important as the in-your-face action on the screen. He stays on the cutting edge by using current original music in feature films, and by working directly with music supervisors.
His film "The Fashionistas," released in 2002, took home 11 Adult Video News Awards including best DVD. Earlier this month, "Fashionistas Safado" was awarded three tropies, including best group sex scene, at the annual AVN Awards ceremony in Las Vegas. "Safado: Berlin" is due later this year.
Stagliano -- known affectionately as "Buttman" in honour of his obsession with the derriere -- releases his films via his company Evil Angel, which he formed in the early '80s. These days Evil Angel has production deals with some of pornland's biggest director/producers, including John Leslie, Rocco Siffredi, Joey Silvera, Christoph Clark and Nacho Vidal. Read the full Billboard interview with Stagliano by following the link below.

Playboy Enterprises Inc. announced this month the launch of the Club Jenna Channel, a pay-per-view pornography channel centered on adult-film star and former Paradise Valley resident Jenna Jameson.
The channel’s launch follows Playboy’s acquisition last year of Club Jenna Inc., the Scottsdale-based multimedia enterprise owned by Jameson and her then-husband, Jay Grdina. The couple filed for divorce last month.
Jameson has since moved to Los Angeles, though she still owns her Paradise Valley home, a spokeswoman said.

On-demand pay-tv has been a regular fixture in top hotels around the world for a years and, while many have and continue to dispute it, pay-per-view pornography has become an accepted part of this hotelling service. Now some are taking that extra step and are suggesting that sex live over hotels’ entertainment systems may become a regular service offered in the hotels of the future.
It was commented during a panel discussion at annual sex entertainment industry trade show Internext that Americans spent USD1.6 billion last year on-demand and pay-per-view video and estimated that about a third of those sales were for sex films. It is according to these numbers that they have seen the popularity of sex films in hotels and hope to expand to sex live and on demand.

It's often said that the porn industry has led the market in working out new ways to make money from the Internet. Adult sites were the first to make use of affiliate marketing schemes to sell their wares, and the first to offer subscription sites for selling both images and video.
As video download services become more common -- helped along in Australia by the belated arrival of something resembling a decent broadband speed for most users -- it stands to reason that they might want to see how well the porn industry has done in this space.

WASHINGTON - Tucked away in a spending bill pending in Congress is language the porn industry finds offensive.
Along with billions of dollars in funding for the Justice Department and the State Department is a little-noticed provision that would require Web sites that feature "sexually explicit" content to contain special labels to make it easier to keep kids away from them.

You'd think that if someone went to all the trouble to cook up something as cynical and yet so deviously inspired as "My Bare Lady," they wouldn't muck it up so much with the sort of boringly familiar reality-show tropes that appear in virtually every other competition show.
"My Bare Lady" (a brassiere is tastefully slung over its logo) features porn stars competing for the opportunity to go to London and humiliate themselves in the world of legitimate theater, a wickedly sinister conceit that allows viewers to both ogle and laugh at essentially clueless young women.

"Did you come out to see the porn stars?" I ask a friend at Woody's a couple of weeks ago.
"Oh no, just meeting up with some friends," he replies. Oh, that's why there's a lineup down the block — a lot of people just took a notion to have a drink with their friends on this particular Thursday night.

Sex is a primal urge. Yet libido rubs a lot of people the wrong way.
Most humans have sex, sometimes with love, just as often without. In marriage, outside of marriage, as a side dish to marriage. It's not ours to judge.
